EnerOcean has launched its floating wind turbine prototype W2Power at the Astican Shipyard in Gran Canaria. W2Power, built and assembled at the Astican Shipyard, will be installed at the Plocan offshore test site in the coming weeks.
The platform, which includes two 6MW turbines, will be installed at the Plocan test site in the Canary Islands in the coming weeks. Ghenova carried out work related to hydrostatic and hydrodynamic response and the structureal behaviour of the platform. UK outfit Tension Tech International has provided technology for W2Power's mooring system.
