BNDES (the acronym in Portuguese for the National Bank for Economic and Social Development) has certified that Gamesa's G114-2.MW turbine, and its 2.1 MW version, comply with the FINAME code.
This code stipulates a series of local manufacturing requirements for OEMs operating in Brazil, thereby qualifying it for access to the development bank's lines of financing. Gamesa will manufacture this new model in its nacelle factory, located in Camaçari (Bahia) from 2016. The company is also working with local suppliers for the manufacturing of the towers and blades.
