GE Renewable Energy business has added two new wind turbine models to its recently announced platform of 3MW wind turbines. The uprated versions of the 3MW platform have been designed to address specific needs of European customers.

The wind turbines are available at hub heights of 85, 110, 131.4 and 164.5 meters. The 3.6-137 is capable of providing up to 28 per cent higher output and the 3.8-130 yielding up to 30 per cent higher output, both over existing technology.  The turbines are configurable to meet IEC class IIIA, IIB and IIIB wind conditions. The machines feature a new suite of software applications for the Digital Wind Farm, designed and developed to enhance annual energy production (AEP) and improve wind farm profitability. The applications are built on the Predix software platform, which includes specialised cyber security protection for operational technology.
