The wind conditions around the globe are available now in your pocket on your phone. Whether you are in Italy, Argentina or New Zealand, you can see the current wind conditions on your iPhone/iPad (Google Map) using the Win(d)Scout 2.0, which has been developed by CUBE Engineering GmbH.
The first screen of the app provides a colour raster view of the world according to average wind speed, where users can position their ‘virtual’ turbines. The scenario can be fine-tuned on the app’s second screen, where the wind turbines can be configured through multi-touch. Win(d)Scout then immediately calculates the wind conditions and production output of the customised turbines. Additionally, the user is able to choose real manufacturer’s power curves.
