New guideline for the certification of offshore wind turbines released

GL Renewables Certification has introduced its latest guideline for the Certification of Offshore Wind Turbines.

Compiled through cooperation with the Wind and Marine Energy Committee, the guideline is designed to support the industry in keeping pace with technology developments, enabling the safe deployment and long-term operation of offshore wind turbines. The new edition focuses on the main developments in the offshore wind industry, including:

• The safety requirements for intelligent turbines, including load relevant control and safety functions
• The requirements for floating wind turbines, including stability and mooring safety
