Following the launch of the EnVentus platform in January, Vestas has now introduced the V138-3.0 MW turbine. The V138-3.0MW is globally applicable but purposely designed to maximise performance under market specific constraint conditions.
V138-3.0 MW turbine will have 138 metres rotor and a 83 metres tower and makes it suitable for the US market due to height constraints. At the same time, the turbine’s sound power levels makes it suitable for low wind sites in sound sensitive markets such as France. Prototype installation is expected by the second half of 2020, while serial production is scheduled for the first half of 2021.
