Vestas has presenting its new V126-3.0MW turbine. The turbine is the latest variant of the 3MW platform used in the V112-3.0MW.
The new V126-3.0MW turbine has a rotor diameter of 126 metres to target low wind conditions (i.e. wind class IEC III) and features a structural shell blade design. With this turbine Vestas is mainly targeting the European markets. The first prototype of the V126-3.0MW turbine is expected to be installed in Østerild in Denmark during the second quarter of 2013.
