A signing ceremony held in the UK has given international firm IW Power exclusive rights to develop 200MW of wind farms in Liaoning Province, China.
The wind farms are to be developed in Dalian city's Changxing Island Harbor Industrial Zone, the center of northeast China's economic boom. Planning approval for the first of a series of 50MW wind farms is expected before the end of the year, with construction planned to be completed in 2008. IW Power is a joint venture company including UK developer Wind Prospect, US investor Tang Industries, and Chinese power contractor, Insigma.
