Distributed Energy Systems Corp. has announced the shipment of two 100kW wind power systems for installation this summer on the Malaysian resort island of Pulau Perhentian.
The company said the project consists of installing and commissioning two NorthWind 100 wind turbines with a 100kW photovoltaic energy system. The wind and solar installation will be integrated with the island's isolated diesel grid, in cooperation with the country's national utility. They will also supply and install its wind turbine supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for the island site, using its SmartView software to allow the customer to remotely monitor and control the wind turbines.
