Plambeck Neue Energien AG and Babcock & Brown Wind Partners Limited concluded on 29 March 2006 a Framework Agreement on the construction and purchase of 30 onshore wind farms in Germany.
The transaction has a value of about € 400 million. The agreement covers a total of 30 wind farms of about 180 wind turbines and a total output of more than 300MW in the Federal States of Lower Saxony, North Rhine Westphalia and Brandenburg, which are to be built in 2006–2008. The Framework Agreement ensures the planning of Plambeck Neue Energien AG in wind farm project development for the next three years and, thus, the jobs in the company as well. Through the takeover of the technical and commercial management of the wind farms by Plambeck Neue Energien AG further continuous turnover and profits will be generated for at least 10 years.
