Amazon and Skyborn Renewables have signed a 600 MW power purchase agreement (PPA) for electricity generated by the Gennaker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. Amazon's long-term commitment to purchase electricity from the project provides Skyborn with additional revenue certainty as it advances towards construction. The 600 MW agreement covers approximately 61% of Gennaker's total planned capacity.
The Gennaker offshore wind farm will add up to 976.5 MW of offshore wind capacity to Germany's electricity system. The project is located approximately 15 kilometres north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Skyborn has developed the project from an early stage and secured the construction permit in December 2025. The wind farm will comprise 63 offshore wind turbines rated at 15 MW each.
Construction is expected to begin following Skyborn's financial close in summer 2026, with commercial operations anticipated by the end of 2028.
