Van Oord has completed the installation of all 111 monopiles for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland, including 107 for wind turbines and four for offshore substations.
Baltica 2 is a 1.5 GW offshore wind farm jointly developed by PGE and Ørsted. Ørsted is responsible for the preparation and delivery of the offshore part of the project, including the monopile installation campaign. Van Oord is the main contractor for the transport and installation of the foundations and scour protection.
The monopiles are up to 100 metres long, have diameters of 9.5 to 10.5 metres and weigh approximately 1,900 tonnes each.
