Colombia’s National Hydrocarbons Agency has confirmed that Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ bid is eligible in the country’s inaugural offshore wind development rights process. Submitted through CI GMF II Cooperatief UA, the bid covers 425 MW in an offshore area of around 139.6 square kilometres (53.9 square miles) off the coast of Barranquilla.
CIP was the only participant in the process, and no objections were raised during the public comment period, allowing the agency to publish the final eligible bidder list. Formal award of the offshore lease is expected to begin in the second half of February 2026, subject to appeals and other regulatory procedures.
