DWT (Deutsche Windtechnik) has been awarded a contract to provide maintenance and other services at the Riffgat offshore wind farm. From 1 January 2027, the company will provide technical services for all 30 Siemens SWT-3.6-120 wind turbines on behalf of operator EWE for an initial two-year period.
The contract includes three options to extend for one year each. Built by EWE in 2013, Riffgat was the first commercial offshore wind farm in the German North Sea and has an installed capacity of 108 MW.
The service contract covers a range of maintenance and service activities, including annual maintenance of the Siemens turbines, inspections of cranes and access equipment, and the identification of potential improvements at the wind farm. Optional services include remote fault resolution with second-level support, on-call troubleshooting and repair work, and warehouse and spare parts management.
Offshore operations for Riffgat will be coordinated from Borkum, with maintenance teams operating from the customer's base on the island. During winter, troubleshooting will be carried out from DWT's service station in Emden, with teams transported to the turbines by helicopter when required.
