DWT has been awarded a service maintenance contract by Nadara for the Mynydd Clogau wind farm. The agreement, effective from 17 April 2026, adds 17 Vestas V52 850 kW turbines to DWT’s service portfolio.
The turbines, now around 20 years in operation, are entering a phase where spare parts sourcing is becoming more complex due to increasing component obsolescence and limited availability of original equipment replacements.
DWT will support continued operation through its engineering-led maintenance approach, which includes inspection, repair and refurbishment of recovered components. Parts are returned to service after testing, reducing reliance on new replacement parts and helping to manage operating costs and downtime.
For components that are no longer available on the market, DWT develops in-house replacement solutions designed to match or exceed original specifications, aiming to maintain long-term operability of older turbine fleets without dependence on original manufacturers.
