Equinor has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens Gamesa and Doosan Enerbility to collaborate on the Ulsan floating offshore wind project.
Under the MoU, Doosan Enerbility and Siemens Gamesa will participate in the development of Equinor’s 750 MW Bandibuli floating offshore wind farm in the Ulsan area of South Korea.
If the project is confirmed through a Final Investment Decision, Siemens Gamesa's 15 MW wind turbine will be used, with nacelles assembled at Doosan Enerbility's facility in Changwon. Equinor received the electric business licence for the Ulsan floating offshore wind project in the second half of 2021, and in July of this year, it completed environmental impact assessment consultations with the Ministry of Environment. The company is now preparing to participate with Bandibuli in upcoming competitive bidding processes for offshore wind.
