Ørsted has achieved first power from the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms, just five months after offshore construction began and three months after installation of the first suction bucket jacket foundations.
The project will supply electricity to the semiconductor manufacturer TSMC under a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement. The wind farms are equipped with 66 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW turbines.
