Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has been awarded a contract by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind for the transport and installation of 100 V164-9.5MW wind turbines for the Moray East project off the East coast of Scotland.
Fred. Olsen Windcarrier will deploy one of the Tern Class vessels for the project, using the Port of Invergordon, which has been selected, as the pre-assembly harbour. Moray East is a 950MW offshore wind project 22km off the coast of Scotland and is the first part of the Moray Firth Zone to be developed. The turbine installation is scheduled to commence in the beginning of 2021 and the total wind farm area is 295km2.
