Gamesa is set to supply its first G97-2.0MW Class S turbines in India, a new model specifically designed for low wind speed sites in this market. The company has signed a new agreement with Orange for the supply of 50MW of these turbines at Khanapur site, located in Maharashtra, India. This is the second agreement secured by Gamesa from Orange, after having announced in October 2014 the delivery of another 50MW for the same facility. The company will also provide the facility’s operation and maintenance services under a long-term arrangement. The first phase of 50MW of the project commissioning is scheduled to be completed by March of this year, while the second phase of 50MW is expected to be commissioned by June.
