The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has announced a cross-border consultation under Section 59(1) of the German Environmental Impact Assessment Act on the draft site decision and environmental impact assessment for the Nederwiek I-B offshore wind farm in the Dutch exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the North Sea.
The Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy submitted the draft site decision and environmental impact assessment to Germany by email on 17 July 2026. The submission is intended to inform Germany of activities that may have significant adverse transboundary environmental impacts, in accordance with Article 3 of the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention), and to allow for appropriate and effective consultation.
The submitted document is the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Nederwiek I-B offshore wind farm, dated 8 June 2026. The document is available on the BSH website under Announcements from 28 August to 26 September 2026, inclusive. Further information is available from the Dutch Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The documents can also be consulted at the BSH libraries in Hamburg and Rostock. Visitors are asked to register in advance to arrange an appointment.
