Grieg Maritime Group has signed a contract with GT Wings to install at least two AirWing20 wind propulsion units on its fleet. The agreement also builds on a recent strategic investment from Grieg Kapital, strengthening alignment between the two organisations.
The AirWing design allows two Jet Sails to be installed on the forecastle of the vessel Star Kirkenes without affecting cargo operations or capacity. Installation is planned during a scheduled drydock period towards the end of 2026 or early 2027. The contract covers two Jet Sails for Star Kirkenes, with an option to extend the installation to three additional K-class vessels.
