Finnish renewable energy company Ilmatar Energy commences construction of a utility-scale onshore wind farm in Finland. The construction is due to start in October 2021.
The Alajärvi wind project is located in central Finland and will encompass 36 wind turbines with a total nominal capacity of 216MW. Commercial operations are targeted to begin at the end of 2023. Once operational, Ilmatar Energy will continue to manage the technical and commercial operations of the wind farm for the next 35 years. Ilmatar sells the renewable energy it produces to consumers as well as corporate customers through PPAs. The Kansai Electric Power owns 49% of shares in the Alajärvi wind project.
