Jan De Nul Group has signed another offshore wind contract in Taiwan for the design, procurement and installation of the wind turbine foundations for the Formosa 1 (Phase 2) offshore wind farm.
The offshore wind farm is owned by Formosa Wind Power Co., a partnership of Macquarie Capital Group Limited (50%), Ørsted AS (35%) and Swancor Renewable Energy Co. Ltd (15%). The scope also includes scour protection and cable installation. The second phase will add 20 offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 120MW to Formosa 1's current 8MW capacity. Formosa 1, located off the coast of Chunan Town, Miaoli County, in North-West Taiwan, will be the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in Taiwan before 2020.
