KKR and RWE have agreed a strategic partnership to jointly develop the Norfolk Vanguard East and Norfolk Vanguard West offshore wind projects in the United Kingdom. The two wind farms are planned to have a combined generation capacity of around 3 GW.

The partners will form a 50:50 joint venture to build and operate the projects, with total development and capital expenditure expected to exceed $15bn. Norfolk Vanguard East and Norfolk Vanguard West are scheduled to become operational in 2029 and 2030 respectively.

Both projects have secured support through the United Kingdom’s Allocation Round 7 under the Contract for Difference scheme. Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.
