Made, a Gamesa subsidiary, has re-launched its business activities by signing a new agreement with the Tunisian company Société Tunisienne de L'Electricité et du Gaz (STEG) for the supply of 91 AE-61 wind turbines.
These turbines with a total power of 120MW will be supplied to the
Metline and Kchabta wind farms, both of which are located in the
Bizerte region. The agreement amounts to almost € 200 million and its
scope includes the turnkey supply of the wind turbines, as well as
their operation and maintenance, along with a substation and power line
for each of the wind farms. This project, which can count on financing
from the Spanish Development Aid Fund (Fondo Español de Ayuda al
Desarrollo), will also have a significant local component. Part of the
ancillary equipment will be built in Tunisia and the wind farms' civil
and electrical works will be subcontracted in the country.
