The Electricity and Energy Ministry will put up for tender two licenses for powers projects for producing wind farms in Gabal el-Zeit area in the Gulf of Suez, said Minister Hassan Younis.
In statements Sunday 13/11/2011, Younis said that the two tenders represent the second and third phases of the project, adding that signing the first phase of the project was made in July. Germany's KfW development bank, the European Investment Bank, the European Union Commission along with the development and use of renewable energy authority will contribute to the wind energy project, he noted. The project will cost about 2.8 billion pounds, he said.
