Ocean Breeze Energy (OBE) has completed the takeover of the company operating Germany’s first offshore wind farm, alpha ventus, and is integrating the project into its existing operations. The change of ownership also means that OBE’s management will lead Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur (DOTI), the company associated with the wind farm.
Located in the North Sea, alpha ventus comprises twelve 5 MW wind turbines and an offshore substation. The project will be added to OBE’s existing operational portfolio, which includes Bard Offshore 1 and prototype turbines at Rysumer Nacken. With the addition of alpha ventus, OBE operates 94 wind turbines and two substations.
OBE will focus on the continued operation of the wind farm and its integration into the company’s operational processes.
