Pacifico Energy Vietnam and Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) have launched an offshore technical survey campaign for two wind farm projects in Vietnam. The campaign follows sea-survey licences granted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for the 500 MW Nam Bo and 1.3 GW Nam Trung Bo 3 offshore wind projects.
The initial work will involve geophysical surveys to assess seabed topography, geology and site conditions. The two projects have a combined planned capacity of 1.8 GW. Pacifico Energy estimates that they could attract more than US$6 billion in investment and create opportunities for Vietnamese companies in areas including surveys, ports, logistics, fabrication, construction and operations.
