Pattern Energy has announced it has committed to acquire 84% interests in the 324MW Broadview Wind power facility and 99% in the associated independent 35-mile 345 kV Western Interconnect transmission line from Pattern Development for US$ 269 million.
The Broadview power facility will consist of 141 Siemens 2.3MW wind turbines and has the capacity to generate 324MW of energy. Broadview has entered into two 20-year power purchase agreements with Southern California Edison (SCE) for sale of 100 per cent of its output. Broadview will interconnect to the new, privately-developed Western Interconnect transmission project, which will deliver the output to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO).
