RWE is expanding its collaboration with ASML in the Netherlands. The two companies originally signed a ten-year power purchase agreement in 2021, which has now been extended to 2038 and expanded to cover around 130 MW of installed renewable capacity.
The updated agreement includes additional supply from the Northwester 2 offshore wind farm in Belgium, alongside generation from RWE’s Dutch wind portfolio. This includes the OranjeWind offshore wind farm and the Kattenberg, Zuidwester, Westereems and Oostpolderdijk onshore wind farms.
OranjeWind, a joint project between RWE and TotalEnergies, has a capacity of 795 MW and is located around 53 kilometres off the coast of IJmuiden in the province of Noord-Holland. Offshore construction is scheduled to start in 2026, with full commissioning expected in early 2028.
