S&C has received an order from Powersystem UK, in Bristol, for a PureWave DSTATCOM Distributed Static Compensator for the initial phase of the 48MW Aikengall Wind Project.

The PureWave DSTATCOM is a part of the electrical equipment order which Powersystem UK received from Cheshire-based Community Wind Ltd., who will construct, own, and operate the project. Wind Prospect Ltd, of Bristol, is the owners-engineer. The +22/-14 MVAR inverter-based system will be delivered in the summer of 2008 and placed in service in the fall. It includes transformers, a switched inductor, and switched capacitor banks which will work as a system to meet Great Britain's Grid Code requirements.
