SgurrEnergy has been appointed by Clean Energy Asia, a joint venture between Mongolia’s Newcom Group and Japanese Softbank Energy, to undertake the owner’s engineer role for the pre-construction and construction phase of the Tsetsii 50MW wind farm located in Umnugovi aimag, Mongolia.
The team began working on the Tsetsii project in 2014, conducting feasibility studies and environmental and social impact assessments which included visits to the remote site location. The pre-construction phase of the project began in May 2015 with commencement of the site works projected to take place in 2016. The project is located in Southern Mongolia, 500 kilometres south of the capital city of Ulaanbaatar and 20 kilometres south of the Tsogttsetsii settlement.
