Scira Offshore Energy Ltd. has awarded Baze Technology, contractor in joint co-operation Natural Power, with the contract for their wind farm portfolio information system, WindManager, on the Sheringham Shoal wind farm.
The site, located approximately 20 km off the coast of Norfolk, England, will consist of 88 x 3.6MW wind turbines giving a total capacity of 317MW when fully operational. Scira Offshore Energy Ltd is owned 50% by Statoil ASA and Statkraft AS, with Statoil ASA being the operator for the development and construction phase and operations. The Bazefield wind farm management system, promoted in the UK as WindManager, will provide real time wind farm management on the site based on 4 modules for effective operations: Monitoring, Analysis, Operations Management and Expert. Natural Power offers WindManager in conjunction with their existing suite of wind farm tools including WindCentre, a 24/7 operations control room, ForeSite for wind farm energy forecasting and SeaPlanner for offshore GIS, site and data management.
