Vattenfall AB, Nordic Generation has awarded Siemens Power Generation (PG) a contract for the construction of Lillgrund in Oeresund near Malmoe, which will be the largest offshore wind farm in Sweden.
The project will have a capacity of 110MW. The Lillgrund wind farm is scheduled to start commercial operation in late 2007. Siemens PG will supply and install 48 of its 2.3 MW Mk II wind turbines. The Siemens scope includes turbine delivery, electrical infrastructure, installation, and a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution will provide equipment for the project's 33 kV and 138 kV-offshore transformer station.
