Spie Wind Connect has been contracted by DEME to complete cable termination and testing at Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm. The scope covers 66kV inter-array cable termination and testing on the remaining 87 wind turbine generators, marking the project’s final phase.
The company previously carried out the same work for phases A and B. Dogger Bank, located more than 130 km off the north-east coast of England in the North Sea, is a joint venture between SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%) and Vårgrønn (20%). SSE Renewables leads construction and delivery across all phases, while Equinor will operate the wind farm over its expected 35-year lifetime.
Scheduled for completion in 2026, Dogger Bank will have a total capacity of 3.6 GW. Each of the three 1.2 GW phases—Dogger Bank A and B with 95 turbines each, and Dogger Bank C with 87 turbines—will feature GE Haliade-X 14MW offshore wind turbines.
