SSE has decided to proceed with the construction of its 208 MW Strathy South onshore wind farm in the Scottish Highlands. Major construction works will begin in spring 2025, with commercial operations expected in late 2027.
Vestas has been selected to supply, install, and commission the 35 V162-6.2 MW turbines for the project. Upon completion, Vestas will service the turbines under a 20-year service agreement. Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the project expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2027.
