Shortly after installation of the first turbine, the 1.1 GW Thor Offshore Wind Farm off Denmark’s west coast near Jutland has delivered electricity to the Danish grid for the first time. The grid is operated by Energinet, while Danske Commodities provides route-to-market services for the project’s electricity on behalf of RWE.
The offshore wind farm is jointly owned by RWE (51%) and Norges Bank Investment Management (49%). RWE is responsible for construction and operations, and the project is expected to be fully operational in 2027.
