Tokyo Gas announces its investment in the WindFloat Atlantic operational floating offshore wind farm in Portugal, which is operated by Windplus. Windplus is now owned by Ocean Winds (65.17%), Tokyo Gas (21.2%), and Repsol (13.63%).
The WindFloat Atlantic project is located 20 kilometres off the coast of Viana do Castelo in Northern Portugal, within the Atlantic Ocean. It employs the WindFloat technology, a floating foundation system developed by Principle Power. The project has a generation capacity of 25.2 MW, achieved through three units, each with a capacity of 8.4 MW. The commercial operation of WindFloat Atlantic began in July 2020. Tokyo Gas and Ocean Winds are already co-shareholders of Principle Power.
