TotalEnergies has halted the development of a wind farm off the coast of New York following Donald Trump's victory in the US election, as stated by the French company's CEO.
Patrick Pouyanne, CEO of TotalEnergies, explained at the Energy Intelligence Forum in London that he decided to pause the project and they would reassess the situation in four years.
In October 2023, the company formed a joint venture to develop the Attentive Energy offshore wind project near New York. TotalEnergies owns 56% of the Attentive Energy project, with Corio Generation and Rise Light & Power holding 27.7% and 16.3% stakes, respectively.
