TÜV Rheinland has completed two new site suitability assessment projects on behalf of Siemens Gamesa. One project assessed the suitability of 2.0/2.1 MW type G114 wind turbines for a wind farm in the USA, the other the suitability of the 2.65 MW version for a wind farm in North Africa.
TÜV Rheinland assessed the system on the basis of the international standard IEC 61400-22 2010. Employees at the certification body for wind turbines at TÜV Rheinland were able to confirm the unrestricted suitability of the systems in question for the planned site.
