In November 2006, EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF-EN) signed a frame agreement with Vestas for delivery of 100MW in each of the years 2008 and 2009. Furthermore, the agreement contained an option to purchase an additional 200MW for delivery in 2009.
Vestas has announced that EDF-EN has decided to utilise the option and has placed an order for a total of 123MW. Hence, in 2009 Vestas will within the frame agreement supply a total of 223MW distributed on five wind power plants in Greece, two in France and one in Italy. The 223MW projects, which will be supplied in 2009, in total consist of 7 units of the V80-2.0MW turbine, 13 units of the V90-2.0MW turbine and 61 units of the V90-3.0MW wind turbine. Furthermore, the order comprises supply and commissioning of the wind turbines as well as a VestasOnline Business SCADA system. Delivery of the 81 wind turbines is expected to start in 2009.
