Casa dos Ventos has placed a 534MW order for the second stage of the of the Rio do Vento complex, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil. The extension will add to the 504MW first phase of the project that is currently under construction.
For the project, Vestas has developed a customised solution, featuring V150-4.2MW wind turbines with some delivered in 4.3MW and others in 4.5MW power mode. The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a 20-year service agreement. The project is expected to become operational in 2023.
