Through its project company for the onshore wind farm project Corralnuevo, wpd has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Ball Corporation, based in Broomfield, Colorado, USA.
The Corralnuevo project is located on the Torozos plateau in the Spanish region of Valladolid, Castilla y León, and is part of wpd's Torozos project cluster which includes the other wind farms Las Panaderas, El Poleo and Navillas. The Corralnuevo project consists of 12 Siemens Gamesa G132-3,465 MW turbines with a hub height of 114 m and is designed for a total capacity of 41.58MW. The contract concluded with Ball is a virtual PPA (vPPA), starting in 2021, and will cover approximately 100 GWh of the project's electricity generation per year.
