Airtricity, Inc.has announced the construction of its largest wind farm to date.
The 209MW Roscoe Wind Farm (Texas, USA) will provide power to TXU Wholesale, a subsidiary of TXU Corp., under a five-year sales contract.? The project area stretches into three counties and will cover nearly 30,000 acres when it is completed. The Roscoe Wind Farm is located on a site adjacent to the town of Roscoe, 45 miles southwest of Abilene in an area primarily used for cotton farming.? The site will employ 209 1.0MW Mitsubishi 1000A turbines. The wind farm is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
