Americas Wind Energy Corporation (AWEC) has announced the receipt of several new orders for wind turbines.

The company's Canadian subsidiary, has recently sold its shares in Emergya Wind Technologies B.V., the proceeds of which were used by the company to completely retire its loan from Digital Predictive Systems Inc. (DPS). The company is now debt free and retains its exclusive license for the Direct Drive technology for North America. Orders have been received from Wind Vision, an Iowa-based Owner/Operator, and related parties for two AWE 54-900 wind turbines. Orders have also been received from two electric utilities, Waverly Light and Power in Waverly, Iowa, for two AWE 54-900 wind turbines and Rural Electric Convenience Cooperative in Camp Point, Iowa, for one AWE 54-900 wind turbine. This brings the Company's recent orders to six.
