Hansen Transmissions International N.V. has announced that it has delivered the first gearbox from its new Chinese facility at the Beichen Hi-tech Industrial park in Tianjin.

Delivery of the first gearbox from the new Chinese assembly and test facility has been achieved six months after the beginning of construction in September 2008, on a 250,000m² site in the Beichen Hi-tech Industrial park in Tianjin. This first gearbox will be deployed in a 2.1 MW Suzlon turbine. The Tianjin Facility will be modelled on Hansen's dedicated wind turbine gearbox facility in Lommel, Belgium and will utilise the same manufacturing machines and processes.
