France launches onshore and offshore wind tenders

The French Government has launched new tenders for onshore and offshore wind energy as part of its third multiannual energy programme (PPE3). The programme targets a rise in electricity production, from 544 TWh in 2025 to between 650 TWh and 693 TWh by 2035, alongside a reduction in fossil fuel consumption to around 330 TWh.
Oregon extends consultation deadline for offshore wind roadmap

DNV report highlights uneven renewable growth and grid constraints

The DNV Energy Industry Insights 2026 report shows that renewable energy, including wind, solar and storage, continues to expand globally, although progress is becoming more uneven and regionally fragmented. Renewables remain on a strong growth trajectory, supported by increasing electricity demand and continued investment in clean energy infrastructure. Wind and solar are expected to provide 32% of global electricity by 2030, rising to 50% by 2040.
TotalEnergies and Masdar to form renewable energy joint venture across Asia

TotalEnergies and Masdar have signed a binding agreement to establish a 50/50 joint venture to combine their onshore renewable energy activities across Asia. The joint venture will serve as the exclusive vehicle for both companies to develop, build, own and operate onshore solar, wind and battery storage projects in Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
WWEA reports record global wind growth in 2025 driven by China dominance

According to preliminary figures from the World Wind Energy Association, global wind capacity additions reached 169,014 MW in 2025, marking a 35% increase compared with 2024. Total installed capacity rose to 1,346,866 MW, representing the strongest annual growth since 2020. Wind power generation approached 3,000 terawatt-hours and supplied more than 11% of global electricity demand. This expansion was largely driven by China, which accounted for 77% of new installations with 130 GW added in a single year. The country now represents more than half of total global wind capacity.
UKA Group secures over 600MW in German onshore wind tender

UKA Group, including its stakes in partner projects, has won awards under the Federal Network Agency’s February onshore wind tender, securing over 600 MW for commissioning. With a total tendered volume of 3,445 MW, this represents a market share of around 17.5%.
