The new interactive wind map on the HUSUM WindEnergy website shows that the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein is one gigantic wind energy showroom, with around 1,400 turbines providing over one million kilowatts.
The map shows all the wind turbines in the region around Husum. The wind-rich west coast of Schleswig-Holstein is considered to be Germany’s leading area for wind energy generation, with the greatest turbine density in the country. 1,393 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 1,170,394 kilowatts (as of January 2012) are all located within a radius of just 60 kilometres of Husum. The new interactive wind map presents data collected from turbine operators especially for this purpose by the Flensburg Chamber of Trade and Industry at the end of 2011. The map shows all the turbine sites, including turbine type and installed capacity.
