Kinewell Energy has expanded its team with five new hires and appointed its first Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Ruth Finch, with over 20 years of experience in engineering and energy, joins as Marketing Manager.
Cherish Brown has been appointed Office Manager, while Jiaxin Zhang and Andrew Brown come on board as Modelling and Optimisation Engineers. Devendra Dhokare, a computer science graduate from the University of Bath, is the new Junior Full Stack Developer. Dr Henna Bains, previously a Senior R&D and Consultant Engineer, was promoted to CTO in June. The recruits bring Kinewell Energy’s total headcount to 13.
Earlier this year, Kinewell Energy launched its Kinewell Wake Optimised Turbine Arrangement (KWOTA) software. KWOTA, Kinewell's third software solution, uses AI technology to optimise the positioning of offshore wind turbines, aiming to maximise energy yields by reducing wake losses. The development of KWOTA was supported by funding from InnovateUK’s FastStart Programme and the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult’s TIGGOR programme, contributing to job creation within the company.
