Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) developer Kitemill has secured €2.5 million from the European Innovation Council (EIC) to accelerate the commercial launch of its technology.
The KM2 system consists of a kite connected by a tether to a ground station. Established in 2008, Kitemill has spent more than a decade building knowledge, intellectual property, and assets, including acquisitions of Scotland’s Kite Power Systems (KPS) and Dutch firm eKite. The company has also received significant investments from En-Vision Europe Limited and Ignatia, alongside the EIC.
